Tin Bound March, Lostwithiel, Cornwall. March 1993
Tristan Saundry leading a march through Lostwithiel streets to the field just outside the town where his father, John, (centre, in checked shirt) proclaimed the land tin bound. This meant that the boundaries were marked, preparatory to mining tin, and sets up a legal right to mine the unworked tin under a piece of waste land, on paying royalty to the owner. The land was planned to have a housing estate on it, which eventually became the case. Photographer: Jonathan Barker
