The Queen Elizabeth Islands in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago
The Queen Elizabeth Islands (formerly the Parry Islands) are the northernmost in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. They are split between the Canadian provinces of Nunavut and the Northwest Territories. Towards the right side of the image you can see a black gap of water running vertically through the brown and snowy land. This gap is what separates Greenland (right side of the image) from Ellesmere Island (center). Ellesmere, the largest island in the Queen Elizabeth archipelago, is actually the 10th largest island in the world. It is covered by the Arctic Cordillera mountain range

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the majestic Queen Elizabeth Islands, nestled in the remote Canadian Arctic Archipelago. Formerly known as the Parry Islands, this cluster of islands is situated at the northernmost point of the archipelago, spanning across both Nunavut and Northwest Territories. In this stunning image, a striking contrast emerges between the brown and snowy landmasses. Towards the right side of the frame, a mesmerizing black gap of water runs vertically through these rugged terrains. This natural divide separates Greenland on the right from Ellesmere Island in the center. Ellesmere Island takes center stage in this photograph - it holds distinction as not only being part of Canada's largest arctic island group but also ranking as one of the world's top ten largest islands. Its vast expanse is dominated by snow-capped peaks belonging to the Arctic Cordillera mountain range. As we immerse ourselves in this breathtaking satellite view, we are reminded of our planet's fragile beauty and its vulnerability to climate change. The untouched wilderness captured here serves as a poignant reminder that preserving these pristine landscapes is crucial for future generations. With no human presence visible within this image, it allows us to appreciate nature's raw magnificence undisturbed. Let your imagination wander amidst this white wonderland where polar climates reign supreme and tundra stretches endlessly into space.
