Six hundred Polish women have arrived in this country after having escaped from Poland to
Six hundred Polish women have arrived in this country after having escaped from Poland to join the WaF. The Womens Auxiliary Air Force. Mothers and daughters together are all keen to serve in this country. Many have harrowing tales to tell and many have fathers and husbands to end in this country or serving with the Polish Forces. One Polish air-man came to this seaside resort on the off chance and was reunited with his wife and daughter when he had not seen since he left Poland when it was over run by the Germans. Many of them have to be taught Polish and some also to read and write, although they can speak the language. Few can speak English.
