The Miles M.20 was a British single-engine, low-wing monoplane designed and manufactured by Miles Aircraft Ltd. for the private aviation market. The U9, as it was originally known, was the company's response to the growing demand for fast and efficient personal aircraft. The Miles M.20 was a sleek and innovative design for its time, featuring a cantilever wing, retractable landing gear, and an enclosed cabin that could accommodate two passengers. Powered by a 130 horsepower de Havilland Gipsy Six engine, the M.20 had a top speed of 130 miles per hour, making it one of the fastest aircraft in its class.
