In this charming illustration by Cecil Aldin from The White Puppy Book, published in 1909, we find a young and adorable white puppy named Snowball deeply engrossed in his diary, or so it seems. The expression on his face conveys a sense of determination and focus, yet the scene is filled with playful distractions. The first challenge Snowball encounters is his rumbling stomach, a clear sign of his hunger. But just as he picks up his paw to write, a mischievous kitten appears, its black and red ribboned collar and bow adding an extra touch of cuteness to the scene.
